YAT Kislev Archive

This page serves as an ongoing archive for Rabbi Ginsburgh's teachings on or related to the 19th day of Kislev, known as Yat Kislev, or Yud Tet Kislev, the New Year of Chassidut.

Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe, the founder of Chassidut Chabad and the spiritual grandson of the Ba'al Shem Tov.

This day commemorates the redemption of Rabbi Shneur Zalman from his captivity and trial at the hands of the Czarist government in Russia. Rabbi Shneuz Zalman was accused of treason by supporting the Ottoman government, which then ruled the Land of Israel.... You can read more about Rabbi Shneur Zalman, the early years of Chabad, and other related topics, here.
