This is mystic meditive melody specially composed for tiferit sheb' tiferit ("The Beauty of Beauty") the sefirah that we meditate on on the 2nd day of Iyar. The second day of Iyar is celebrated by the Hassidim as the birthday of Rabbi Shmuel of Lubavitch. The Talmudic sages teach us that on a person's birthday, his soul-root (mazal) radiates most strongly. Rabbi Shmuel is identified with his best-known saying: "People generally say that if you are confronted with an obstacle, you should try first to go under it, and only if that fails, try to leap over it. But I say: lechatchilah ariber you should always, as your first option, leap over it."

This melody is considered to be the holiest of all the Precise Melodies. The custom of Chabad chassidim is to sing this melody only at specific times of the year such as Yud-Tet Kislev, Simchat Torah, and Purim and also at festive occasions such as a brit, bar-mitzvah or wedding. Similarly, Chabad chassidim used to sing this melody during the month of Elul when they would pray individually, at length. Its four themes echo the four spiritual Worlds of Asiyah (World of Action), Yetzirah (World of Formation), Beriah (World of Creation) and Atzilut (World of Emanation).
