Rabbi Ginsburgh responds to the Israeli governments call to dismantle Jewish settlements Peace Based on Truth Q: Why
shouldn't two states be created in Israel, granting
equal rights and hopes for all the people living there? A:
There is a Divinely determined order to the process by which the world is
rectified. We must take care to proceed according to this order, and to
strive for peace based on truth. Attempts to make peace on a false premise,
that the Land of Israel was given by God to any nation other than Israel,
only distorts the situation and causes further violence. The
first verse of the Torah is "In the beginning God created the heavens
and the earth." The famous Biblical commentator Rashi asks why
God chose to begin the Bible from this verse, and not, for example, from the
first commandment given to the Jewish people? He answers that in beginning
from this verse, God is relaying a basic message for all the world. God
created the world, and determined which land would be for which People. He
determined that the Land of Israel would be for the People of Israel, as is
written in the Torah. Thus,
the first step is for the world to recognize (through faith and will that
this is the way to bring good to all the world) that the Creator gave the
Land of Israel as an eternal inheritance exclusively to the nation of
Israel. After this truth is established and we merit the true redemption,
every non Jew who is a righteous gentile and does not seek to harm the
Jewish people, can live in the Land of Israel in peace. For
detailed information on the process of rectifying the situation in Israel,
and the entire world, see Rabbi Ginsburgh's book, "Rectifying the State
of Israel," available at:
