Face the Truth

The war the Arabs are waging against Israel is not about land. It is a religious war--the war of Islam against Judaism. For this reason, the focal points of the war are the Jewish holy sites; the Temple Mount, the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron, and Joseph's Tomb in Shechem. Specifically about these three sites the Midrash relates that our ancestors paid for them in full, invalidating any world claim to them.

Israel’s retreats "for peace" only whet the appetite of our enemies to further dominate the Land of Israel, and to distance us from the inheritance of our forefathers. Every flight is preceded by a fall in our spirit. We lose our way and begin to pay the price--"victims of peace," God forbid.

The Jewish People has the strength to emerge from the illusions of false "peace." By recognizing that our enemies are waging a war based on their cruel and false religion, we can strengthen ourselves with our true religion. The IDF must battle our enemies, with uncompromising determination to eradicate them from our land, in the Name of God.

Through the renewed bond to Israel as a holy religious value, the nation of Israel will reach true internal unity. We will derive the strength to fight for our nation and our land from the Torah. We will be permeated with faith that our victory comes from God, and not from our own might. This confidence will bring us delight in the mitzvah ("commandment") of conquering the Land of Israel and settling it with joy.

The time is ripe, and our Father in Heaven desires to bring us victory and abundance in all--to bring true peace to the world. We must wake up, and work tirelessly toward this goal. As our Sages taught, God will take our small effort and infinitely expand upon it. Our task is to make a serious start!

Summary:
The light inherent in the Zionist dream--the aspiration that the Jewish people, after nearly two thousand years of exile, return to their homeland--is indeed great, but its vessels are small and immature. Secular Zionism has succeeded in creating material vessels, constructing buildings and roads, developing industry, and creating institutions of higher, secular education. But it has willfully neglected, or even rejected, the inner, spiritual dimension of the vessels themselves the conscious intention that they serve God's purpose in creation.

Without this inner dimension, no matter how great the vessels (physical accomplishments) may seem, they remain immature, unable to contain and integrate the light of the Zionist dream. The result the very light shatters its own vessels.
