A: True mesirut nefesh (dedication) for Torah and mitzvot, including the study of Chassidut and Kabbalah with an appropriate Rabbi, can be compared to "taking a gamble on G-d." This "gamble" is the only positive gamble in the world, and can help you to overcome your urge to gamble on negative values. Pray to G-d, and He will help you to be strong and close to Him.
