Yisrael
Sabba Yisrael Sabba is the lower of the two primary partzufim which develop from the sefirah of chochmah (which together are referred to as the general partzuf of Abba), as described above. In the soul, Yisrael Sabba represents the inclination inherent within the seminal insight of the mind to "impregnate" one's heart. The innate inclinations of Bet Shammai (to be severe in judgment) and Bet Hillel (to be lenient in judgment) derive from the intellectual level of Yisrael Sabba. Yisrael Sabba unites with Tevunah for the sake of fully assimilating and integrating one's wisdom and understanding into one's consciousness (the consciousness of one's heart). The partzuf Yisrael Sabba is identified in Chassidut with the archetypal soul of Isaac, the second patriarch. Though the name Israel particularly refers to the third patriarch Jacob, our sages teach that each of the three patriarchs are called "Israel," each of them associated with a different level of Israel. The two sons of Isaac, Esau and Jacob, represent the origin of the two innate tendencies contained within Yisrael Sabba towards severity and leniency, as explained above.
