Abba is the general partzuf which develops in the world of Atzilut from the sefirah of chochmah ("wisdom"). In Atzilut, as in the Divine soul of Israel, it is the first "conscious" power, the first bolt or lightening flash of new insight appearing to the inner eye of the soul.

The partzuf Abba divides into two subordinate partzufimAbba Ila'ah (which develops from the first three sefirot of Abba into a fullpartzuf) and Yisrael Saba (which develops from the last seven sefirot of Abba into a full partzuf).

The general partzuf Abba "enclothes" the "right arm" of the partzuf Arich Anpin, the particular partzuf Abba Ila'ah extending from the "chin" of Arich Anpin to the "chest" of Arich Anpin and the particular partzuf Yisrael Saba extending from the "chest" to the "naval."

In the soul this means that the superconscious will to serve G-d with love (symbolized by the "right arm" of Arich Anpin) enlivens and motivates, as a soul to a body, the power of insight (the general partzuf Abba). Each new insight possesses an unconscious "vector" force to arouse and manifest Divinely inspired love in the soul.
